This practice uses the latest computerised analytical assessments developed from universities around the world in our examinations to assess reading efficiency and visual performance. These tests are charged outside of Medicare (unclaimable). They include all or part of the following depending on individual requirements:
Functional Vision Skills influencing visual fatigue and efficiency and progressive short sightedness.
- Computerised eye tracking
- Computerised eye teaming flexibility and facility
- Divergence eye movement
- Convergence eye movement
- Eye focusing flexibility and facility
Perceptual Vision Skills influencing understanding and decoding of what we see.
- Visual Form Perception & recognition
- Visual Memory (static & sequential)
- Visual Attention Span
- Visual Reading Rate and Fluency
- London University Coloured Filter Screener for reading and computer enhancement (Scotopic Sensitivity/ “Dyslexia” help with tinted lenses or overlays test).
These vision skills tests are routinely performed on any adult or child exhibiting symptoms outside of sight and optical blur.
These tests are charged outside of Medicare at a cost of $105. Subsequent reassessments are $65.
Advanced Eye Health & Disease Detection
We have recently acquired advance technology for monitoring & assessing the health of your eyes. This equipment uses the latest technology for detecting very early eye health & general systemic issues such as potential glaucoma, brain tumors, macular degeneration, retinal defects, diabetes or arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). These tests include:
- Computerised visual field testing using the latest frequency doubling technology.
- Retinal imaging enabling high resolution digital photographs of the retina, optic nerve & associated blood vessels.
These tests are performed when indicated. Photos are charged outside of Medicare at $55. Visual field tests are usually bulk billed to Medicare when appropriate.
