At Eyes InDesign the routine eye health, sight and optical error tests covered under Medicare includes all or part of the following depending on individual requirements:
- Ophthalmoscopy to check the health of the back of the eye.
- Slit lamp microscopy to check the health of the front of the eye.
- Sight measurement distance and near.
- Retinoscopy for objective measurement of refractive blur.
- Phoroptor refraction for subjective measurement of refractive blur.
- Eye teaming amplitudes.
- Focusing amplitudes.
- Age related focusing loss measurement.
- Stereopsis and depth perception tests distance and near.
- Binocular balance in the prescription.
- Colour vision testing.
- The latest non contact glaucoma intra ocular measurement which means no drops needed and no big machines.
All these tests are routinely performed and bulk billed to Medicare. If you have seen another Optometrist within 2 years we are unable to bulk bill you and you will need to pay $65 and then claim back a lower proportion from Medicare. (If another Optometrist has referred you here then we can bulk bill you when you bring your referral).
